  2. Our MissionWhat we do • The Urostomy Association is committed to the support of people affected by a urinary diversion through the provision of information, support, research and education.

  3. Our VisionWhy we do it • We want to ensure that those affected by urinary diversion can achieve the best possible “quality of life” both before and after surgery.

Our ValuesKey values which can help us achieve our vision • We listen to our members’ needs • We are the providers of reliable and trusted information and support, independent of commercial influence • We will strive to investigate new ways to help those affected • We are valued as the “voice of the patient” with medical professionals, product manufacturers, service providers, and government

Key ObjectivesOur areas of focus • The Urostomy Association will continue to be known as the reliable and independent source of information for those affected by urinary diversion. • We will explore new ways to learn even more about the impact of urinary diversion, and share what we find. • Everyone who works with us to fulfill our mission will have the skills and support to achieve the best results.

  6. Key Objectives (Continued)Our areas of focus • As a growing organisation we will retain our personal contact with our members’ needs, whilst always ensuring we fulfill our obligations as a registered charity.

  7. Maintain and expand our branch network Actively engage with members to understand their needs and align our work to these needs. Be the “voice of the patient” with medical professionals, product manufacturers, service providers, and government Objective 1: We will use our best endeavors to ensure those affected by urinary diversion have access to the information and support they need.

  8. Engage with additional medical practitioners to benefit from expertise, keep up to date and spread the workload. Raise funds to undertake focused research. Redesign our website Liaise with appliance manufacturers and suppliers to learn of new developments and advise of problems. Objective 2: We will explore new ways to learn even more about the impact of urinary diversion, and share what we find.

We want to Identify new people and ideas to support our work (both as trustees and supporters) Make the best use of our volunteers’ skills by focusing on specific tasks and working in a consistent way Take advice from experts when necessary Train our officers and visitors in our approach and operational needs Objective 3: Everyone who works with us to fulfill our mission will have the skills and support to achieve the best results.
