  2. Tú y Ud. • You= Tú or usted (Ud.) • Tú= informal • Use when speaking with: • Friends • Family • People your age • Children • Pets

  3. Tú y Ud. continued • usted= formal • Abbreviated Ud. • Only capitalize the abbreviation • Use usted to show respect when speaking with: • People you don’t know well • Older people • People with authority

  4. Tratamientos • When speaking formally you may want to use “tratamientos” or “titles” • señor (Sr.) = Mr. • señora (Sra.)= Mrs. • señorita (Srta.)= Miss • When written out titles are lower case. Capitalize if abbreviated!
