ABOUT • Webster University, founded in 1915 with its home campus in St. Louis, Missouri, U.S.A., is the only Tier 1, private, nonprofit university with campus locations around the world including metropolitan, military, online and corporate, as well as American-style traditional campuses in North America, Europe, Asia and Africa. • Webster University ensures high-quality learning experiences that transform students for global citizenship and individual excellence.   3. We have a rich history that reflects a commitment to preparing students for an ever-changing world. HISTORY • Founded by the Sisters of Loretto—Catholic nuns • Established as one of the first women’s colleges west of the Mississippi River • Became coeducational in 1962 • Transferred ownership from Catholic Church to lay board of directors in 1967 • Continue to operate today as a private, non-profit institution unaffiliated with any religious institution • Poised on a path for growth • We have been and always will be committed to bringing higher education to wherever it is needed in the world.

LOUIS GROWTH • In 1915, we opened our doors in St. Louis with 5 students • Today, we have almost 22,000 students worldwide with approximately 8,000 of those students in the St. Louis region • Undergraduate programs • Graduate programs Webster University is helping to turn St. Louis, the Gateway to the West, into The Gateway to the World.

METRO GROWTH • Kansas City Metro was first Metro location and opened in 1972 • Today, we have a presence in over 40 Metropolitan locations acrossthe U.S. • Busy working adults come to the Metro locations to start or finish degrees • Convenient education is relevant to career progression What students learn in the classroom in the evenings can be put into action the next day at work.

ONLINE GROWTH • A leader in offering online education • Started offering online courses in 1999 • Today, over 9,000 students take online courses in Webster’s Online Learning Center • Students can customize their learning experience by taking some courses online and some in the classroom—or all online We offer flexible, convenient, 24/7 access to higher education.

ACCREDITATION • Webster University is accredited by The Higher Learning Commission and is a member of the North Central Association, (312) 263-0456, www.ncahlc.org. • This accreditation, which was awarded in 1925, includes undergraduate and graduate levels at all Webster University locations • Business and Management programs are accredited by the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP) • Education programs are accredited by the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE) • Additional international recognitions and accreditations have been awarded in China, Thailand, Austria, the Netherlands and Ghana Specialized accreditations are seals of quality for those programs.
