  1. How to Find the Area of a Circle by : Rachel Sorenson

  2. First lets take a look at the parts of a circle. This is the Radius. * The radius is a line segment reaching one point on the perimeter to the center of the circle This is the diameter. * The Diameter of a circle is a line segment that passes through the center of the circle and reaches all the way across.

  3. Use this formula to find the area of a circle. a = π*r² This is what they mean- r². This means the radius of the circle to the second power. π. This symbol is called pie. The number is infinite but we only use the first three numbers. ( 3.14) *. This means multiplied by.

  4. Here’s an example! Tommy needs to figure outthe circumference of his table to tell the glass cutter so he can put the glass on his table. If the radius is three, what’s the circumference? 3 inches

  5. This is how you solve it- First you solve 3 2 = 3x3= 9 Next you multiply 9 by pie. ( 3.14) 3. 14 X 9 28.26 3 inches Your answer is 28.26!

  6. Now you should know how to find the area of a circle
