Types of Shoring in Use 1.H Or The I-Beam Shoring Also commonly known as the Soldier pile walls, H beam shoring is the commonest type of shoring in use. It is called so because it is constructed by using prefabricated H (or I) sections. These beams do not need a pre-drilled hole to secure them in the soil. They can instead be directly vibrated into the ground. H beam shoring therefore came to be commonly used to support excavations ranging from 1.2 – 5.0 meters. 2.Secant Pile Shoring
