Aboriginal Student Mentoring Project Overview
DESCRIPTION
The mentoring project involves a dedicated team of four members who support a group of 10-12 Aboriginal students. A full-time Aboriginal mentor is employed through the NILNS project and CDEP, leading the initiative. The mentoring program caters to mixed groups of students from Years 8-10, with support from Aboriginal Education Workers (AEW), School Support Officers (SSO), and mentors. Additionally, Aboriginal Education Teachers (AET) provide guidance to students in Years 11 and 12, focusing on enhancing literacy and numeracy skills.
