This project outlines the comprehensive revitalization of Savannah's historic downtown through a public-private partnership. Spearheaded by the City of Savannah, Downtown Savannah Authority, and Batson-Cook Development Company, initiatives include demolishing the old garage, restoring Ellis Square, and constructing a new underground garage with over 700 spaces. The plans also involve the redevelopment of the Morning News site into a hotel and enhanced streetscapes. The approach aims to improve accessibility, create jobs, and preserve the historic charm of the National Landmark Historic District.
