  2. What is the Spirit of London Awards ? This is an opportunity for all young achievers across London to become part of the legacy that is the Spirit of London. To support those who are creating movements within their community and experience a night like no other aimed to inspire. The Spirit of London Awards is the standard in live youth award events Launched in 2009 the awards celebrate the youth of London so often overlooked by the media who represent their communities with their positive contributions The awards provide an opportunity for the UK music industry to show solidarity with our young people by coming behind them to help give those nominated for awards the “night of their lives” “not all of our young people will become rap stars, premier league footballers or Hollywood actors – We must applaud those that look to make their mark on the world in less financially rewarding careers such as community work” Dr John Sentamu – Archbishop of York
