Ray Bradbury’s "Fahrenheit 451" presents a dystopian society akin to our own, where censorship and technology suppress independent thought. Both worlds grapple with the effects of conformity and distraction; however, our reality still encourages some forms of critical thinking, unlike the complete eradication seen in the novel. To be a thinking person means engaging with ideas, questioning norms, and seeking knowledge. Yet, distractions such as social media and information overload can inhibit our ability to think deeply and critically.
