What and why’s for the day • Overview of day • 5:15 pm Meta-cognitive reflection and discussion • JF: Greg, Pete, Orlando and (Ashley) – My office • MO: Dawn, Jeff, Jennie and Tracy – Jefff’s office • LT: Alpa, Sarah, Lucas, Vince and Eric R – Computer lab • KM: Eric D, Julie, Scott, Melisa and Joe - Mailroom • 6:15 pm break • 6:30 pm Peer review – AR report • 7:15 pm Plans for last class

Action Research Schedule • January 8: meet in new groups to discuss progress and plans (ch5&6) • January 22: report on pilot tests of data collection instruments and calendar for remainder of the project (ch.7&8) – schedule visit & debrief (1/28 – 2/29). • February 5: ½ group bring in data for collective analysis and interpretation (review ch6) • February 12: ½ group bring in data for collective analysis and interpretation (review ch6) • March 4: Peer review of written draft (12 page limit; review ch8& read ch9) • March 18: Presentations & Celebration • March 25: Submit final written drafts via email – to be published in a booklet (10 page limit)

Organization of our Last Class • 4:50 Meet for announcements at the Library • 5:00 Set up your poster and welcome your guests • 5:30 Introduction, welcome and 90-second overviews (alphabetical order) • 6:15 Poster presentations • Suggestions about layout • Informative title • Research Questions and Findings in the middle • Rationale and Literature Review on left • Action plan and Implications on right • 30 minutes at your poster; 30 minutes looking at others’

  5. Meta-cognitive discussions • How have the core components of this course helped your development as a reform-minded science teacher? • Observations and debriefs • Action research project • Blogging • Course maps

  6. For next class • Bring two colleagues – invite more • Send me 1 power point slide (text and images only) for your 90-second overview (alphabetical order) • Prepare 90-second overview • Research question • Rationale • Findings – whet our appetite • Prepare tri-folds • Keep blogging!!
