  1. RULES and RESPONSIBILITIES How to be an Out-of-This World Music Student!

  2. When coming into class I should: • A. Jump around like a fox. • B. Take my assigned seat. • C. Start to cry. • D. Put a smile on my face.

  3. IF YOU SAID B: Take my assigned seat. YOU ARE RIGHT! • IF YOU SAID D: Put a smile on your face, YOU ARE RIGHT AGAIN. • If YOU SAID A: Jump around like a fox – We need to call the zookeeper. • If YOU SAID C: Start to cry, perhaps you need to go back to the hall and come in again.

  4. When Mr. Dennard is talking I should: • A. Run around the room screaming. • B. Listen RESPECTFULLY because he is really good at his job and knows what he is doing and if he is happy we are all happy. • C. Start to cry. • D. Eat a bag of chips and spill them all over the room.

  5. IF YOU SAID B: Listen RESPECTFULLY because he is really good at his job and knows what he is doing and if HE is happy we are all happy. YOU ARE RIGHT! • ANY OTHER ANSWER WILL GET YOU INTO TROUBLE.

  6. PAYING ATTENTION OR HOW TO GET THE MOST OUT OF THE VIEW

  7. When handed an instrument I should: • A. Jump around like a kangaroo. • B. Listen for instructions before playing. • C. Treat the instrument with respect. • D. Put a smile on my face.

IF YOU SAID B: Listen for instructions before playing -YOU ARE RIGHT! • If YOU SAID C: Treat the instrument with respect, YOU ARE RIGHT AGAIN!!! • IF YOU SAID D: Put a smile on your face – YOU ARE TOTALLY RIGHT,unless you didn’t do B, and C. If you didn’t do B and C, all the smiles in the world won’t keep you from losing that instrument.

  9. CRUSHER OR, NO BULLIES ALLOWED

  10. IF I do any of the following I am considered a bully in music class: • A. Laugh at someone. • B. Call someone names. • C. Touch/push/slap/pinch another student. • D. Make fun of someone’s attempt to make music. • E. Threaten anyone in any way, shape or form. • F. Tease someone who is just doing their best.

  11. THIS ONE’S EASY: ANY ATTEMPT TO BULLY ANY ONE IN ANY WAY WILL RESULT IN A DISCIPLINE REFERRAL. • EVERY TIME • NO TOLERANCE

  12. WE'RE A TEAM OR, WE’RE ALL CAMPING OUT TOGETHER FOR 45 MINUTES

  13. When asked to participate I should: • A. Say I don’t want to do that. • B. Be ready to put my whole heart into everything I do. • C. Say “I’m bored”. • D. Put a smile on my face.

  14. IF YOU SAID A: I don’t want to do that… you are wrong. • IF YOU SAID B: Be ready to put your whole heart into everything we do – YOU ARE RIGHT AND YOU WILL HAVE A GREAT TIME IN CLASS. • If YOU SAID C: I’m bored. I’ll find you something else to do. Believe me, you won’t say you’re bored a second time… • If YOU SAID D: Put a smile on your face – YOU ARE RIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  15. ABSOLUTELY NO GUM ALLOWED IN MUSIC CLASS EVER!!!

  16. IF I CHEW GUM IN CLASS: • I could choke. • Make Mr Dennard mad. • Get gum on the carpet. • .

  17. A BASKET CASE • Or How to keep Mr. Dennard happy!

  18. I should not do the following in Music Class: • A. Jump around like a kangaroo. • B. Talk without permission. • C. Grow wings and fly away. • D. Chew gum. • E. Use any instrument without permission. • F. Bully anyone.

  19. How to be ONE BIG HAPPY FAMILY MUSIC CLASS IS AWESOME

  20. I should do the following in Music Class: • A. LISTEN TO MR. Dennard. • B. TREAT ALL STUDENTS WITH RESPECT. • C. COME IN, FIND MY SEAT, and BE READY. • D. SHOW CARE FOR THE INSTRUMENTS. • E. ENJOY MYSELF!!!
