  7. Erasmus for study and internship • Duration of the study period or internship abroad varies from 3 to 12 months. • The number of available grants depends on the institution. • Grant recipients will receive an amount per month. • All disciplines/degree programmes in European Union countries plus Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, Croatia, Turkey and the overseas territories of all these countries. • Recipients of an Erasmus grant are entitled to take part in one internship and one period of study.

  8. Erasmus Intensive Language Course • Free language course of up to six weeks (at least 60 hours) for Erasmus students; • 1 extra month of grant money; • Minor languages only (not English, Spanish, French or German); • Apply for course through institution’s International Office.

  9. VSBfonds Grants • Your institution must be a participant in the VSBfonds grant programme; • Duration of the study period abroad: between 3 and 24 months; • The grant may not be larger than € 10,000; • Approximately 150 grants available in total; • Valid in any country around the world; • Foreign study programme must be a logical complement to the student’s study programme in the Netherlands; • Application form available from VSBfonds website; • Submit application to your own institution before 1 March 2011.

  10. Preconditions for VSBfonds Grants • You have Dutch nationality or are receiving a Dutch student grant; • You are no older than 29 years of age on the date of departure; • You are committed to social issues and highly motivated; • You will be graduating between 1 March 2010 and 31 December 2011; • You will be graduating from a university of applied science or obtaining a Master’s degree from a university; • You meet the admission requirements applied by the foreign institution at which you wish to study; • Your subsequent study programme may not commence before 1 July 2011.

  11. Huygens Scholarship Programme • Intended for exceptionally talented students who wish to spend a period of time studying abroad at Bachelor’s (final phase) or Master’s degree level during or after their studies in the Netherlands. Or doing an internship; • Grants are available for a period of at least 6 and no more than 24 months; • Grants consist of: - reimbursement of tuition fees- standard monthly allowance - one-off standard reimbursement of international travel expensesPlease note: costs are indicative and depend on your country of destination; • Applications must be submitted to Nuffic before 1 February 2011 (from 1 November 2010 onwards)

Huygens Scholarship Programme • As a student, you are free to determine in which country and at which institution you would like to study. • The provision is that the institution of your choice should have a solid reputation in your specific discipline. • Most importantly, though, your own performance must be above average. • If you excel as a student and would like to study abroad, you may apply to Nuffic for a grant.

  13. Which requirements will you have to meet? • Your academic results reflect your talents as a student, and must thus be exceptional. In order to qualify, for example, you must be amongst the top 10% of your study programme, or even the top 5%. • You have a clear motivation to study or follow an internship abroad. • You have been nominated by your Dutch institution. • The study, research programme or internship in which you aim to take part must offer more in-depth or broader knowledge in the area of your preparatory programme. • Additional criteria and preconditions may also apply.

  14. Preconditions • Your study programme in the Netherlands is a full-time, CROHO-registered bachelor’s or master’s degree programme at an institution that is a signatory to the Code of Conduct on International Students in Dutch Higher Education. • The study programme in which you wish to take part is a Bachelor’s programme offered in the final phase of the relevant study programme (for example, no grants are available for the first two years of a bachelor’s programme) or a master’s degree programme that complements your studies in the Netherlands. Internships can only be conducted as a normal part of your study programme (and must yield credits). Please note: Study programmes at PhD level are not eligible. • You are no older than 35 years of age at the start of the new academic year (1 September 2011). • You have Dutch nationality or meet the requirements for Dutch student grant recipients. www.nuffic.nl/huygens

  15. Cultural Agreements • Grants to study or conduct research in one of the countries with which the Netherlands has entered into a Cultural Agreement; • The duration of the study programme will vary from country to country, generally lasting between three and twelve months; • Some countries also offer summer courses; • The amount of grant money will vary from country to country. In some cases, Nuffic will reimburse travel expenses incurred as a part of study/research abroad; • Valid for approximately 25 countries; • Applications must be submitted to your own institution between August 2010 and July 2011 (varies from country to country); • Please note: no agreements have been made as to the accreditation of study programmes and credits.

  16. Preconditions for Cultural Agreements • You are in the final year of your studies, have recently graduated or are conducting research at a university, art school or music school. Students at universities of applied science in their final year seeking to study or intern abroad are also eligible. You do not have to be in your final year to apply for a summer course grant. • You must have Dutch nationality or receive a Dutch student grant or loan. • If you are not a Dutch national, you will not receive a grant for your country of origin. • You must be no older than 35 years of age at the start of your study. • You may apply for no more than two CA grants. • Additional or divergent conditions may apply in different countries.   19. Leonardo da Vinci • Candidate requirements: studying at a research university or recognized university of applied sciences, or recently graduated and not yet employed.
