College Computer Applications-Hybrid Course • College Computer Applications • Advanced Studies Course – Approved by SUNY ECC • 3 credit hours • Students must be a Junior or Senior • Hybrid Course • Hybrid Course - course in which some traditional face-to-face "seat time" has been replaced by online learning activities. • SUNY ECC requires 4 students enrolled • Scheduling Conflicts • Students were unable to enroll in course • Jeopardy of losing the course

Course Layout • Requirements: • Students must enroll in Advanced Studies (cost: $213) • Must meet with me once a week during study hall, lunch, or after school • Sign in sheet • Assignments could be completed at school, home, library, etc. • Introductory Microsoft Office 2010 textbook • Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook • Graduation Invitation & Labels • Graduation DVD (Windows Live Movie Maker) • E-portfolio on Google Sites • Assignments are due on Thursdays at 11 pm in my drop box • New assignments are posted on Friday

  5. Lesson • Read Word Chapter 2 in your textbook. It is strongly advised that you complete all “Step-by-Step” exercises in this Chapter. The “Step-by-Step” exercises are identified by the Numbered Red Dots . The time required to do this will vary based on your computer skills. • Review the Word Chapter 2 Course Lecture in Word 2010 in Angel, Lessons. This PowerPoint lecture summarizes the textbook chapter. • Complete Make It Right: Inserting Missing Elements in a MLA-Styled Research paper, pages WD 129 – WD 130. (20 points) • Submit the assignment • Go to Angel, Lessons, Drop Boxes. • Select A4. • Enter A4 in Title. • Select Attachments and submit the Make It Right 2-1 Biometrics paper Modified file. • Also, we will be creating a resume and cover letter in the next unit. Discussion Forum #2 involves posting a link to a reliable source regarding cover letter and/or a resume building. Do not use the same source as another student. Post your link and write a summary about your article (6 sentences minimum). (20 points) • You may want to begin compiling all of the information necessary for a resume, such as work experience, computer experience, awards, community service, etc. You will need this information for next week.
