Large-Eddy Simulation of Multiple Opposing Jets in a Cross-Flow for Reactor Flow Analysis

This study investigates the complex flow dynamics arising from multiple opposing jets in a cross-flow configuration at TKK. Utilizing an inert large-eddy simulation of the 'Osbourne' reactor flow, our model incorporates three pairs of jets, analyzed within a computational domain featuring 4 million control volumes. This setup presents a challenging case due to the flow's wide range of scales, effectively demonstrating the capabilities of the IBMSC parallel computer at CSC. The insights gained could improve reactor design and efficiency.
