  1. How to get Notary Attention? Notary attestation is the first stage in the certificate attestation process from India for legalizing personal and non-educational documents. It helps to verify the authenticity of the documents for the purpose of using them abroad for various purposes. Notary attestation followed by Home attestation is mandatory for legalizing personal documents. Notary attestation is done by an authorized Notary while the Home attestation is done by the respective State Home Department. The attestation is required for documents like marriage certificate, birth certificate, death certificate, etc. The attestation of personal documents is required if you are applying for a family visa, residential visa, student visa, and sometimes also for a work visa. The main process of getting notary attestation from India is as follows: Notary & Home attestation: The personal documents are legalized from an authorized notary first. After that, the document is attested by the respective state Home department. MEA attestation: After state attestation, the documents are attested by the Ministry of External Affairs [MEA]. MEA attestation is mandatory for getting the embassy attestation. Embassy attestation: In the final stage of certificate attestation, the document is attested from the embassy of the country you are intending to travel to.
