  2. 4 Components • Learner • Conditions under which target behavior will be learned & assessed • Target behavior – specific, observable, measurable – Would anyone understand what you were talking about? Would anyone be able to easily determine if the target behavior has occurred? • Criteria – indicates when the objective has been met

  3. Examples – Good or Bad? • Steve will learn his multiplication facts.

  4. Examples – Good or Bad? • When presented with 3 coins, Katie will correctly identify penny, nickel, & quarter by pointing.

  5. Examples – Good or Bad? • When given a writing prompt in class, Steve will independently construct a paragraph of at least 3 complete sentences with correct punctuation, grammar, & capitalization for 10 consecutive assessments.

  6. Examples – Good or Bad? • When given 10 math problems to solve, Katie will complete all 10 problems with at least 90% accuracy.

  7. Examples – Good or Bad? • When asked to indicate which bus is the correct one to board, Steve will independently indicate verbally the correct bus by number & sight on 5 consecutive days.

  8. Examples – Good or Bad? • Given a project to complete, Katie will devise a plan, implement the plan, and complete or revise the plan as needed scoring at least 75% correct on a teacher-provided rubric, for 3 consecutive academic projects.
