Read this article to know the procedure for applying for an EB-5 investor visa in the US. The EB 5 program was introduced by Congress in the year 1990 for creating jobs in the US. Through this visa, foreign entrepreneurs can stay in the US as a permanent resident if they make an investment in a US-based enterprise or they have the potential to create ten permanent full-time jobs for the qualified workers in the US. This type of visa is also referred to as investor visa and those who qualify for it can bring their family with them to the US. If you too are planning to apply for the investor visa through eb5 regional center, then here is the step-by-step procedure of applying for an EB-5 investor visa: Fill the form I-526 The first thing that you need to obtain is an investor visa for which you need to file the form I-526. You might find this procedure time- consuming as you need to provide your investment details which should match with the EB 5 program requirements. You can check the latest version of their official website and can download for free of charge. You will be asked to fill your personal details in the form. In addition, you will be asked to provide information related to the enterprise in which you have invested. Apply for EB5 Visa When you are done signing the petition and it has been approved, you can then obtain your visa. You can carry out this procedure in two ways: • If you are a resident of US and living under a different status, you will need to fill form I-485 so that you can become eligible for EB 5 visa. • Secondly, if you are not a resident of the US, you will need to fill form DS-230 at the US embassy where you will be interviewed.
