  1. SNMP MIBs to manage G.698.2 parameters draft-galikunze-ccamp-g-698-2-snmp-mib-00.txt Former draft-galimbe-kunze-g-698-2-snmp-mib-02.txt Gabriele Galimberti Cisco Systems Ruediger KunzeDeutsche Telekom Lam, Hing-Kam Alcatel-Lucent Dharini Hiremagalur Juniper Networks IETF 84 Vancouver Canada

  2. Motivation & Problem statement • ITU-T G.698.2 defines the Application Codes and their optical parameters to operate a DWDM system in a Black Link approach GOAL: • Provide a standard way to retrieve/set the ITU-T application codes & parameters from / to the network • Support EMS/NMS (or simple browsers) to access the optical parameters • New technology availability must be addressed: • 100G, 400G, 1T – co-ordinate w/ ITU-T • Colourless/Directionless/Contentionless ROADMs • Flex Spectrum must be addressed

  3. Changes from last meeting • changed the document name : From: draft-galimbe-kunze-g-698-2-snmp-mib-02.txt To : draft-galikunze-ccamp-g-698-2-snmp-mib-00.txt • Modified: • OPT-IF-EXT-MIB DEFINITIONS • OptIfChannelSpacing • Removed reference to new FEC coding for 40G and 100G (wait for ITU) • Reshaped the MIB structure to pass SNMP compiler • Fixed some un-appropriate “measure unit” • Cosmetic changes • Submitted to opsawgmailing list for comments IETF 84 Vancouver Canada

  4. Next Steps • Feedbacks on draft effectiveness • Refine the parameter contents / extension and SNMP MIB structure upon comments • Identify future parameters to cover with the MIB • Realign the Parameters to new ITU-T Rec. • Add clarification regarding standard application codes & vendor transceiver class • Promote the draft to WG document IETF 84 Vancouver Canada
