  2. About Carolina Tiger Rescue • Nonprofit wildlife sanctuary whose mission is saving and protecting wild cats in captivity and in the wild. • Educates the public about the plight of wildcats in captivity and in the wild. • Conducts non-invasive research to further understand and aid wildcats

  3. Vision of Tiger Rescue • Is working on the day when • Wildcats are not used as • Pets • Entertainment • No trading for wildcats or their parts • All wildcats live in proper native habitat

  4. Volunteering • Typically work from 9:00 am – 5:00 pm (Monday to Friday)

Volunteering • Assist with projects such as: • Clearing vines and brush from enclosures • Building or dismantling fences • Digging trenches for drainage, or other light construction tasks. • Mainly will depend on their particular needs at the time, available tools and materials, and progress made by other groups • Be prepared for moderately strenuous physical work in a fairly rustic, natural, outdoor environment. • Specific activities may vary depending on the specific needs of the organization at time of arrival.

  6. Things to Bring • Bottles Water • Sunscreen • Bug spray • Gloves (volunteers often donate these) • Boots or closed toe shoes • Long sleeved shirt/long pants • No inappropriate logos or graphics of T-shirts • Always consider weather when packing • Extra cash for fun activities

Location • Lodging: TBA • Drive • 780 miles • 14-hours drive • Leaving Chicago and arriving in NC on Sunday, March 24. • Leaving NC and arriving in Chicago on Saturday, March 29. • It’s conveniently located close to Jordan Lake and the Triangle (Chapel Hill, Durham and Raleigh) Area of North Carolina.

  8. Volunteers Needed • Students passionate about animal rights! • Animal Lovers • Genuine people willing to help and make a difference NCTR! • COST: $150

  9. Most Importantly Have Fun! You will learn many amazing new things, volunteer your time for an important cause that might not be very well know in Illinois and you will create memorable college experiences with great new friends!
