Mission Statement To serve America’s veterans, their spouses, and their families with dignity and compassion. To be their principal advocate in ensuring they receive the benefits to which they are entitled and to promote the health, welfare, and quality of life of all veterans in recognition of their service to this nation.

Florida state statute Florida law requires each Florida county to employ a veterans’ service officer to assist veterans and their dependents in filing for benefits from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. The law also states that the Florida Department of Veteran Affairs (FDVA) is responsible for initial certification and training.
