Defense Family Support Program Review - Finding Gaps, Overlaps, and Collaborative Opportunities

In response to the FY12 DPPG, this review identified gaps, duplications, and opportunities for joint programs in defense-wide family support programs. Findings include gaps in services for geographically dispersed and Reserve Component families, potential gaps in Exceptional Family Member Programs, and overlaps in non-medical counseling and information and referral services. Opportunities for collaboration include spouse employment and education and financial readiness counseling. Next steps include validating the findings, conducting RMD studies, and linking the program review to future force needs and outcomes.
