PLNTS Professional Learning for Non-teaching Staff SRG PL Delivery & challenges • Professional Learning for Non-Teaching Staff (PLNTS) SAS Staff Reference Groups (SRG) 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 School Administrative and Support (SAS) staff Reference Group (SRGs) across the state. • Managed and delivered by volunteers. • Mixed representation of classifications on each RG – inadequate representation of some large classifications. • Some SRGs earn significant revenue/others don’t. • Return on investment was not tracked. • Varying quality assurance. • Inconsistent content and quality. • Replication of effort across the state • Activities varied across the state – Not equitable • Access to PL; access to presenters; varying quality/expertise of presenters not even across the state • Customer needs were not met as the delivery of PL was not based on the needs. • Varied customer experience across the state. • PLF did not have a role statement/permanent role • SRG members reported high levels of stress. • Lack of experienced staff in Learning and Development.

PLNTS Professional Learning for Non-teaching Staff The Journey Since May 18 • Professional Learning for Non-Teaching Staff (PLNTS) Coaching and Mentoring Program Commenced for SAM - Primary Professional learning across the state delivered including SRG commitments Funding approved for next three financial years Transitional governance established Revised PLNTS Organisational Structure approved Budget bid / business case (Funding) approved by Deputy Secretary. Current PLNTS team established (Two delivery teams and a content team) 41 staff members 8 staff members

Professional Learning delivery • Professional learning for non teaching staff (PLNTS) team, are designing, developing and facilitating quality professional learning for non-teaching staff • The PLNTS team are working closely with other directorates and school-based staff. • Collaboration with working groups is assisting us to determine professional learning needs. PLNTS Professional Learning for Non-teaching Staff Professional Learning Delivery – Key Achievements (Feb – May 19) • Professional Learning for Non-Teaching Staff (PLNTS) Conferences Specific Training Coaching and Mentoring • Three tier coaching and mentoring program for School Administrative Managers • Tier 1- Individual differentiated coaching and mentoring • Tier 2 – Small group focused • Tier 3 – State wide conference • Coaching and Mentoring - Primary • Tier 1 – 145 Participants • Tier 2 – 114 Participants • Coaching and Mentoring - Secondary • Tier 1 – 63 Participants • Tier 2 – 95 Participants • Key participant groups • School Administrative Manager (SAM) • 20 Conferences delivered across the state. • 2,305 participants (50% regional, 50% metro) • Key participant groups • Business Manager (BM) • School Administrative Manager (SAM) • Community Liaison Officer (CLO) • General Assistant (GA) • Farm Assistant (FA) • Science Assistant • 214 training events delivered across the state. • 860 participants (80% regional, 20% metro) • Key participant groups • All Non-Teaching Staff

Excellence in Schools Administration (ESA) Tier 1, Tier 2 & Tier 3 – SAMs and A/R SAMs EOI Term 3 Closed 19 July Coaching and Mentoring program - commencing later in Term 3, 2019 Tier 1 – individualised support provided to SAMs who are new, relieving or acting Tier 2 – small group support provided to SAMs who have completed the tier 1 level and experienced SAMs who are working in a new context Tier 3 – broad development and support offered to all SAMs state-wide Excellence in School Administration coaching and mentoring program Leadership & High Performance | Professional learning for non teaching staff (PLNTS) V5.0 July 2019 Slide 8

E-Learning Option What does e-learning include? • ESA Framework • There are two courses available: • Relationships • 10 modules with 21 sessions • Total duration - approximately 5 hours • Administrative Practice • 8 modules with 8 sessions • Total duration - approximately 5 hours _____________________ • No prerequisites - access online anytime • Participants must complete quizzes to proceed within a session • Participants receive certificate on course completion • MyPL records completed modules and courses.   16. Yammer • For the latest professional learning information join Yammer network groups. Non-teaching staff (NTS) have been encouraged to join Yammer during other training sessions they attend. Participant guides have been provided with step by step instructions how to launch Yammer and join the network group that supports their role with the latest professional learning information and discussions. Once our NTS have access to Yammer they can search for their role network group by typing DoE into the search field.
