Program Overview Who are we? • Formed mid-2018 as an evolution of the work from the FirstNetNC program • FirstNet Single Point of Contact (SPOC) • Continued engagement with FirstNet Authority and AT&T in regards to the FirstNet Project • Engagement with wireless providers offering public safety broadband services • Current and former firefighters with emergency management experience • Resource of thought leadership for first responder technologies in North Carolina • New technologies have recently been accelerated by the work being done by the FirstNet Authority.

Program Overview Vision Statement • FirstTech is a resource of thought leadership for responders in North Carolina regarding the impact of new technologies and enabling informed decisions Our Solutions • First Responder Engagement • Industry Engagement • Partnership Engagement • Economic Development Where are we located? • 301 N. Wilmington St. (Dept. of Public Instruction Building) • We have the ability to travel in and out of state to attend meetings, events, and networking opportunities

  9. More than Just Cellular • Dedicated customer service • Special App Catalog for public safety

FirstNet Summary Cellular for Public Safety • Cellular service with AT&T • Will not replace two-way radios • No mandate to sign up for service • Priority and preemption for public safety • Cybersecurity focus on network and apps • Available for individuals as well as agencies • Verizon is offering a separate competing service
