Library College Liaisons: • Identify new program proposals from campus departments • Work with dept. faculty to identify core materials • Use Collection Analysis tools for comparisons with peer institutions • Prepare cost summaries for dept./approved by Dean of Libraries and Dept. Head Analysis: Existing model for new programs

  3. Mixed success—no clear university policy • Department doesn’t always include library report • Library makes need known during university budget process • Ongoing costs must be considered as well as one-time Analysis: Funding Needed

  4. Re-enforce role library and new content plays in new program proposals • Create a similar model for review of library needs for new institutes, centers, superclusters • Identify university process for creating and funding these new initiatives • Identify campus stakeholders at meta-level (Administration, Deans, Faculty Council Committees.) • Create centralized process for review by library Next Steps

  5. Requires University funding at cabinet level? • Requires cooperation from units that request new programs/clusters for that funding • Superclusters require new approach/more team approach in library Prioritization—Medium?
