In 606 BC, King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon seized Jerusalem, taking treasures and the best of its young people, including Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah. They were offered royal food, but Daniel chose to uphold God's laws by refusing it. Instead, he and his friends ate vegetables and water, trusting in God's provision. After ten days, they appeared healthier than those who ate the king's food. When presented to the king, they were found to be ten times better than the magicians and enchanters, demonstrating God's faithfulness and desire for their well-being.
