  3. What can you do in EndNote? Build your own personal Library. Search Online databases and bring resources to the library. Store articles, pictures, data with your references. Format correctly in the style you are writing. Cite as you write (in Office Word). Soad Al-Mabdy

Objectives : • By the time you complete this training program, you should be able to: • Create EndNote libraries and enter references in them. • Import references from online databases or Importing references via text files . • Use EndNote with Microsoft Word to create and format citations (Using Cite-While-You-Write). Referencing Reference Management Software Programs. • simplify the process of reference management by allowing the user to: • collect, store, and organize references • insert citationsand generate a list of the references in an appropriately formatted bibliographic style • Products of Reference Management Software • ProCite, Reference Manager and EndNote Soad Al-Mabdy

  6. Referencing: Referencing, or citing, means acknowledging the source of information and ideas you have used in an assignment (e.g. essay or report). Source could include books, journal or newspaper, articles, items form the internet, picture s or diagrams.Two most common used referencing systems: Author-date system  Harvard, MLA, APA Numerical system  Chicago, Footnote What Referencing system should I use ?   7. Harvard Referencing System Harvard referencing system is made up of 2 components: Citation (Author, Date)  (Gibson, 1999) Reference Gibson, Adam (1999). The definition of disability, Oryx Press, Phoenix. Soad Al-Mabdy

Reference list and/ or Bibliography: • Reference : • all the reference for a piece of work (discussed above) can be collected together and put in a list at the end of the main text (before any appendices). • Bibliography: • bibliography list all of the material you have consulted in preparing your essay whether or not you have actually cited the work.
