  2. Apprehensive Part of Speech: adjective Definition: anxious or fearful that something bad or unpleasant will happen She was apprehensive about getting on the plane.

  3. garish Part of Speech: adjective Definition: obtrusively bright and showy She has a collection of garish shirts in all sorts of colors.

  4. tussle Part of Speech: verb Definition: engage in a vigorous struggle or scuffle The demonstrators tussled with the police.

  5. perforated Part of Speech: verb Definition: pierced or holes put in it The worms had perforated the pages of the book from cover to cover.

  6. flounder Part of Speech: verb Definition: struggle or stagger helplessly or clumsily in water or mud He was floundering about in the shallow offshore waters.
