  1. HISTORY 1991 Established the Old Soldier Home Bulletin Board System (BBS)at Fort Knox Kentucky, a computer users connection of files, discussions, and games. Included military related files files from the C2MUG(Command and Control Micro Computer Users), a Ft Leavenworth repository. Internet search site Yahoo goes public. It was first established in 1994 as “Jerry’s Guide to the World Wide Web” in 1994. Apr 96 Established the NCO Website. Included a directory of links, a chat room and a message board on the free Geocities server. It was developed as a Yahoo alternative for US Army NCOs. Developed the NCO Zone LISTSERV, a predecessor to the CAL Enlisted Leader Development Network (ELDN). Mar 97 Fall 97 Published Work the WWW in the NCO Journal in Fall 97 predicting how web technology could work to connect soldiers across the internet, and included (from the NCO Website) a three page story of important links to noncommissioned officers. The links were posted to the Sergeant Major of the Army website and the article was incorporated in to lessons at the US Army Sergeants Major Academy. 1999 Added the First Sergeant Website and the Squad Leaders Tool Kit. 2000 2001 Broke away from Geocities and established vBnHQ.com, a Virtual Battalion Headquarters link directory. Established eArmyHQs.com which served as a “hub” to other URLs. Transitioned the NCO Website to the eSergeant Network under eSergeant.net.
