  1. Laser measurement of the LATdetector displacement Wojciech Wierba Instytut Fizyki Jądrowej PAN Wojciech Słomiński, Jerzy Zachorowski Instytut Fizyki UJ

  2. Optical measurements of detector position • Precision requirements: sub-mm transverse 10 mm axially. • Optical sensors non-contact measurements.

  3. Transverse position • Simple CCD camera, • He-Ne red laser, • Laser translated in 50 mm steps Proof-of-principle measurements

  4. Camera picture (old)

  5. Camera picture (new)

  6. Position measurement

  7. Result of the first measurements • Coefficient: 0,12727pixel/mm • Resolution 1mm if the accuracy of determination of the centre of the light spot is better than 0.1pixel

  8. Centre of spot calculation algorithms • Cuts on different levels • Whole frame, part of the frame • Constant amount of light in the peak

  9. Centre of spot, x position

  10. Centre of spot, y position

  11. x and y position

  12. X distance

  13. Difference from fit

  14. Conclusions • Problems with micrometric movement, • Non perpendicular beam,

  15. To be done • Small-pixel camera, CCD technical data, • Manually controlled sensitivity, BW camera, • Semiconductor laser, • Piezoelectric movement of camera, • Independent measurement of displacement, • Multiframe statistics.
