  2. What is Aid? • Aid is help, which can assist a country to overcome problems it faces. It can be long-term, short-term or medium term. Politics of Aid 7

  3. Where does Aid come from? Aid comes from 3 main sources: • From Governments of developed nations. (Bilateral Aid) • Fromorganisations such as the United Nations. (Multilateral Aid) • From voluntary organisations such as Oxfam, SCIAF. (Voluntary Aid) Politics of Aid 7

  4. Bilateral Aid A rich country giving to a developing country. Example: The USA giving to Ethiopia Politics of Aid 7

  5. Multilateral Aid An organisation giving to a developing country. Example: The United Nations giving to Rwanda Politics of Aid 7

  6. Voluntary Aid A charity giving to a developing country. Example: SCIAF giving to Malawi Politics of Aid 7
