  4. Yet, you might not be so stupid after all. • After all psychology translated means :Science of the Mind. Psyche- mind/soul ology- science of

  5. . • So you really aren’t an idiot. Its just that it cannot be the science of the mind because not only is the mind a terrible thing to waste but it really does not exist. (no physical reality) We call things like mind, intelligence, motivation – constructs. Let me give you an example. . . . . .Pretend like I’m a serial killer sexual masochist. . . . . . . . . .

We are dying to know- WHAT IS PSYCHOLOGY? • Well the answer is a little complicated. . . .The definition has evolved over time. Psychology first started in 1879 Wilhelm Wundts’ lab in Leipzig, Germany . It started as the Science of Mental Processes.

  7. Yet, the Behaviorists in the 1920s believed that psychology should be a pure science and you couldn’t study mental processes- scientifically. The changed the definition in 1920s to the science of behavior. • The Cognitive School in the 1950’s said something revolutionary. The said. . . . . . . .
