  2. Holy, Holy, Holy. A passage from the Gospel according to Saint Luke (4:38-41), may his blessings be upon us all. Amen. Jesus left the synagogue and went to the home of Simon. Now Simon's mother-in-law was suffering from a high fever, and they asked Jesus to help her. So He bent over her and rebuked the fever, and it left her. She got up at once and began to wait on them. When the sun was setting, the people brought to Jesus all who had various kinds of sickness, and laying His hands on each one, He healed them. Moreover, demons came out of many people, shouting, ‘‘You are the Son of God!'' But He rebuked them and would not allow them to speak, because they knew He was the Christ. Glory Be To God Forever, Amen

  6. Living in the Spirit • There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus,whodo not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit. For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. (Rom 8: 1, 5-6) • Do I live in the Spirit or not? • How can I tell?

How Can I Pray in the Spirit? • Do you know who wrote the Bible? • This is why we pray with the words of the Bible – they are like a tutorial from the Holy Spirit on how to pray • We have and use many examples: • The Psalms – can you imagine that David’s personal prayers were inspired by the Holy Spirit? • The Midnight Praises – each Hoos in Tasbeha comes from the Bible • Our Father – why do you think we say it 24/7?

  9. 2 Facts • The more we pray the Biblical prayers, the more they influence our personal prayers • We begin to speak God’s language • Our prayers are guided in the right direction • The more we pray with our personal prayers, the more they influence our Biblical prayers • We begin to relate to the words • We feel sensitive to what we are saying to God
