  1. Hot Wheels VS. Match Box By Quentyn Hall

  2. Purpose • What is the effect of the Hot Wheels and the Match Box car brands on the distance they traveled

  3. Hypothesis • If the Hot Wheels car traveled further than the Match Box car then the distance will be greater because of the material of the wheels are slick and smooth.

  4. Materials List • 1 die cast Match Box car • 1 die cast Hot Wheels car • 4-6 meter sticks • 1 piece of note book paper • 1 3 piece ramp • 1 calculator

  5. Independent/Dependent Variable • IV: The car brands • DV: The distance each car travels

  6. Constants • Ramp • Meter sticks • Measuring units • Car brands • Type of car • Same flat surface (floor)

  7. Steps • 1: Build ramp 12 Inches high, 112 cm long • 2: Set ramp on a flat surface (floor) • 3: Set up Meter sticks • 5: Place cars on top of ramp • 6: Do experiment for 3 trials • 7: record data

  8. Safety Concerns • Cars and ramp contain small parts • Choking Hazard may happen

  9. Data Chart

  10. Graph Chart Graph of Distance from the Car Brands Amount of centimeters Hot wheels Matchbox

  11. Conclusion • My hypotheses wasif the Hot Wheels car traveled further than the Match Box car then the distance will be greater because of the material of the wheels are slick and smooth. Well my hypotheses was right Hot Wheels did go the furthest .How I would change my hypothesis is that I would see if hoot wheels would also get the fastest time. In the experiment in trial 1 hot wheels had 114 cm and matchbox had 169, in trial 2 hot wheels had 329cm and matchbox had 124cm, in the final trial hot wheels had 338cm and matchbox had 308 at the ending result hot wheels had 559cm and matchbox had 200cm. I can assume that hot wheels are probably is on of the fastest toy cars and can go the furthest. Some questions I have is, What is the fastest time these car brands would have ? or How high is the temperature would be if I left these cars out under a heat lamp? Some problems were finding the cars that have the same weight same size and same material their made out of and finding the proper ramp and measuring tools.
