  2. Common Incident Basic Responses • Bomb Threat • Smoke / Fire / Gas Leak • Chemical Leak / Spill • Emergency Medical Incident • Workplace Violence Incident • Severe Weather / Natural Disaster

  3. Bomb Threat • Have a pre-prepared – fill in the blanks / circle the description - Bomb Threat Report. To be provided to law enforcement. • Pre-identified staff to conduct building search. • Clear the specific area / floor (as well as adjacent, above & below) if indicated in threat, but do not commence full evacuation until directed by senior management or emergency personnel. • Staff trained in parcel / letter bomb recognition.

  4. Smoke/ Fire / Gas • If smoke or flames can be seen or gas smell - visible vapor seen, immediately initiate evacuation. • Notify 911 Center, Supervisor & Security. Activate audible alarm system. • A designated manager or supervisor shall contact 911 Center to confirm 911 call and alarm have been received, provide notification of evacuation, confirm location and provide circumstances. • Section Leaders & Wardens shall commence immediate evacuation.

  5. Chemical Leak / Spill • Determine interior or exterior source. Exterior source - initiate shelter in place. Interior – evacuate. • Notify 911. • A designated manager or supervisor shall contact 911 Center to confirm 911 call has been received, provide notification of evacuation or shelter in place, confirm location and provide circumstances. • Section Leaders & Wardens shall commence evacuation or relocation to interior shelter.

  6. Emergency Medical • Notify 911 Center, Supervisor & Security. • Notify medically trained staff First Aid Responders. • A designated manager or supervisor shall contact 911 Center and confirm receipt of reported medical emergency, confirm address and convey First Aid Responder provided information on victim’s condition.

  7. Severe Weather • If imminent onset, do not attempt to depart. SHELTER IN PLACE! • Contact Supervisor for guidance. • Follow direction of Section Leaders & Wardens . • If high wind event, move to interior of building, away from windows, and preferably to a pre-designated structurally reinforced area.

  8. Earthquake • If possible, exit building and move to an open area away from structures and gas/electrical lines! • Do NOT attempt to depart by vehicle. • If unable to exit, seek interior shelter under desk or in the frame of a door way. • Follow direction of Section Leaders & Wardens.

  9. Workplace Violence • Call 911 and, if possible and safe to do so, notify Supervisor & Security. • A designated manager or supervisor shall contact 911 Center and confirm receipt of assault/attack, confirm address and provided, if possible, additional descriptive information on threat. • Code phrase notification announced over PA “Mr. Elvis please call HR”.

  10. Lockdown Procedures • If threat is interior, exit building and seek entrance to a nearby building or move to opposite side of nearby building. Do not attempt to leave by vehicle. • If exiting is not possible, move into an interior room, lock / barricade door and close blinds. Contact 911 and advise of interior location. • If movement is not possible, minimize motion but seek concealment under desk, behind partition……

  11. Lockdown Procedures • If threat is exterior, ensure exterior doors are secure, close blinds and move personnel to center of building. • Stay as low as possible while moving and upon arrival at center of building. • Remain stationary with hands in view until Law Enforcement gives evacuation command or the all clear.
