Cenk CavusogluCase Western Reserve University, Cleveland, Ohio, USA • Robotic-assisted surgeryis performedwith intelligent robotic instruments controlled through teleoperation. • The robotictools actively cancel the relative motion between the surgicalinstruments and the beating heart. • Measuring the motion of the heart is animportant part of this scheme. • A novel whiskersensor design to measure the beating heart motion during this operation is proposed.
