  2. I. What the Bible Teaches about the Nature of God • How did God get here? • How did God create the earth? • How does God know what to do? • Does God change His mind? • Does God see me at all times?

  3. 1. How did God get here? • Eternal • “I am that I am” Ex. 3:13 • Jehovah = “the existing one” • God has always been, and He always will be. • He is forever • “Ancient of days” Dan. 7:9

  4. 1. How did God get here? Eternal “the LORD shall endure forever” Ps. 9:7 “Thy years will have no end” Ps. 102:27

  5. 2. How did God create the earth? • Omnipotent = all powerful • Gen. 17:1 “I am the almighty God” • No limit to His power • His power enabled Him to Create the universe. • “with God all things are possible” Matt. 19:26 • Rev. 19:6 “Lord God omnipotent”

  6. 3. How does God know what to do? Omniscience = all knowing He is unlimited in His knowledge

  7. 3. How does God know what to do? Omniscience = all knowing “God is greater than our heart, and knows all things.” 1 Jn. 3:20 God has known from all eternity all that He can know.

  9. 3. How does God know what to do? • Omniscience = all knowing • God knows our thoughts and everything about our lives • If God gained knowledge, implies He is not all knowing • God has known from all eternity all that He can know.

  10. 4. Does God change His mind? • Immutable = unchanging • “Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and today and forever.” Heb. 13:8 • Methods change • Principles are eternal

  11. 5. Does God see me at all times? • Omnipresence • God is free from the laws of limitations or space • God is present everywhere at the same time.

  12. II. What the Bible Teaches about the Omnipresence of God Jer. 23:23-24 Acts 17:28 Ps. 139:7-12

  13. The Omnipresence of God "Am I a God near at hand," says the LORD, "And not a God afar off? Can anyone hide himself in secret places, So I shall not see him?" says the LORD; "Do I not fill heaven and earth?" says the LORD. Jer. 23:23-24

If I ascend into heaven, You are there; If I make my bed in hell, behold, You are there. If I take the wings of the morning, And dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea, Even there Your hand shall lead me, And Your right hand shall hold me.

  19. Unlimited Eternity --------- unlimited in time Omnipotent --- unlimited in power Omniscience -- unlimited in knowledge Omnipresence - unlimited in space

  20. Infinite Eternity [duration] ~ “I am that I am” Omnipotent [power] ~ “Almighty God” Omniscience [wisdom]~understanding Omnipresence [essence]~ not limited by space

  21. IV. Lessons from his Omnipresence We can learn some valuable lessons from this characteristic of God.
