Background Information • The Nottingham Post is on a quest to find the best Oriental Restaurant within its circulation area. • Imagine the kudos and boost to your business if you win the much coveted accolade “Nottingham Post Oriental Restaurant of the Year 2014” • We would like to invite your business to enter this year’s competition. Entry is by strict invitation only and is limited to a maximum of 30 participants. We strongly urge you to confirm your participation as soon as possible to avoid disappointment as participants will be decided on a first come first served basis. Competition Mechanics: • Closing date to confirm your restaurant’s participation – 5pm. Friday, 14th February 2014 • A special Oriental Restaurant of the Year supplement will feature inside the Nottingham Post on Friday, 21st February 2014 • Each participating restaurant will be featured in a quarter or half page editorial profile which will contain details: • About the restaurant • Menus and pricing • Signature dishes • What makes it stand out from the crowd James Crudgington – 0115 905 1926 www.nottinghampost.com/oriental2014 • The Oriental Restaurant of the Year supplement will contain a voting coupon. To entice reader participation, each coupon returned will be entered into a free prize draw for a 3-course meal for 2, excluding drinks. (To the value of £100) • Coupons will be featured every day in the Nottingham Post until Saturday, 15th March 2014. Votes will also include double, treble and quadruple votes to increase reader engagement. Online and Facebook votes can also be cast. • Votes can be cast on www.nottinghampost.com and the Post’s official Facebook page. This will be to a maximum of 1 vote per IP address/ 1 facebook login. Normal competition rules will apply. The Competition will be promoted inside the Nottingham Post from 7th February2014. Entry is dependent upon payment of an entry fee.

  3. Background Information • Up to six restaurants with the highest number of votes cast at the close of voting – 10am on Monday, 17th March will be our finalists. Finalists will be contacted by Wednesday, 19thMarch 2014. The finalists will be previewed in a special photo/editorial feature during w/c 24thMarch 2014. • The finalists will be mystery shopped from a panel of critics between Monday, 24th March and Saturday 5th April 2014 and will be scored on criteria such as quality and appeal of the meal, taste of the food, customer service, friendliness of staff/welcoming, etc. • The Oriental Restaurant with the highest score from our panel of critics will be crowned the Nottingham Post Oriental Restaurant of the Year 2014. The overall winner and two runner-up winners will be featured in side the Post on Saturday, 12th April 2014. In the event of a tie, the overall winner will be determined on the total number of reader votes cast. Promotional Schedule: • Trade Entry Promotion • 22nd January 2014 – Trade invitation to participate campaign – Post, Metro, Online, and Social Media • 22nd – 31st January 2014 e-mail invitations/trade letters encouraging participation Pre promotion of supplement – Post, Metro, Online, and Social Media, Newspaper Sales Posters. Digital edition of launch supplement will be online throughout this period. • Consumer Pre Promotion • 7th February – Coming Soon campaign – Post, Metro, Online, and Social Media • 14th February – Pre promotion of supplement – Post, Metro, Online, and Social Media, Newspaper Sales Posters. Digital edition of launch supplement will be online throughout this period. • Competition Promotion • 21st February – Oriental Restaurant of the Year launch feature within E.G • 21st February to 15th March – Nottingham Post, Newspaper Sales, Leaflets, e-flyers, Social Media. Supported by coverage in Metro, and Topper. ‘Vote for your favourite’ campaign. • Finalist Promotion • 28th March – photo/editorial feature inside EG. Cross promoted in Food and Weekend. Supported with online promotion and Social Media. • 8th April – Feature inside the Post announcing the Winner and runner-up winners. Teasers in Food & EG and cross promoted in Metro, Topper and on Social Media. Normal competition rules will apply. The Competition will be promoted inside the Nottingham Post from 7th February2014. Entry is dependent upon payment of an entry fee.

Background Information 10 Reasons to Participate: • The winning restaurant will be considered “Nottingham Post Oriental Restaurant of the Year 2014” and will be able to use this endorsement in any advertising/promotional material. A special promotional endorsement graphic will be provided and must be used in conjunction with the title. • A winners ‘Oriental Restaurant of the Year’ trophy will be presented by the Editor of the Nottingham Post. The overall winning restaurant will feature in a promotional article which will subsequently appear in the Nottingham Post. • Wall plaques will be presented to the • Winning Oriental Restaurant of the Year 2014 • 2nd place - Highly Commended Runner Up 2014 • 3rd finalist – Highly Commended Finalist 2014 • We will provide a banner up to 7m x 1m for promotional display outside the winning Restaurant. • We will profile the finalists as an update feature within EG on Friday, 28th March. • We will profile the winning restaurant within the Post on Saturday, 8th April. • The winning restaurant will receive a daily 3x2 entry within our Diners Directory Classified section for 12-weeks. We will also feature a 5x2 promotional advert within the Nottingham Post’s sister publications – Nottingham & Long Eaton Topper and Metro. • The winning restaurant will be profiled in an edition of Nottinghamshire Today. • The winning restaurant will receive a digital directory page for a one year period. • We will offer the winning restaurant a 25% discount on any leafleting placed with NPMG during 2014 and the two category winners a 15% discount during 2014. • The winning restaurant will receive free entry into to the Nottingham Post Oriental Restaurant 2015 competition. The remaining 2 finalists will be offered a 50% discount into the 2015 competition. Normal competition rules will apply. The Competition will be promoted from 7th February 2014. Entry is dependent upon payment of an entry fee. Prizes worth over £2.5k The Nottingham Post reserves the right to withdraw or to substitute elements of the prize list. Where elements are withdrawn or substituted, a replacement element will be provided of a higher value.
