This panel discussion outlines the essential aspects of the new technical framework for rail transport, emphasizing its importance post-liberalization of the rail sector in Europe. Key topics include the composition and implementation of the new framework, necessary follow-ups, and the current status of interoperability and safety directives like COTIF and TSI. Challenges such as mutual acceptance of wagon authorizations and the need for compatibility among member states are critically assessed. The session aims to contribute to a safer and more efficient Trans-European rail network.
