Revitalizing Neguac: From Crisis to Community-Driven Tourism Development

The village of Neguac, with a population of 1,623 residents, has embarked on a significant recovery journey following the Burnt Church crisis. Recognizing the need for infrastructure development, residents identified tourism as a vital revenue and employment generator. With investments of $195,000 from the province and ACOA, alongside $66,666 for the Neguac arena through Recreational Infrastructure Canada (RInC), this initiative created 14 full-time jobs during construction and one permanent position, boosting tourism and economic growth in the region.
