They tried to escape the sweltering heat by resting under the shade tree. detachment (adj) not being influenced by personal feelings or opinions in considering the facts; cool and distant E.g. Atticus treated his kids with “courteous detachment”

  3. tyrannical (adj) exercising power in a cruel and controlling way E.g. Calpurnia had a “tyrannical presence” in Scout and Jem’s home. eccentric (adj) unconventional and slightly strange E.g. Dill’s head was always full of “eccentric plans”. morbid (adj) having an abnormal and unhealthy interest in disturbing or unpleasant thing E.g. His morbid interest in zombie movies had overwhelmed his life.
