  2. What is GM2? • GM2 is Guthrie’s Music Ministries, thus the G and the two M’s are the squaring effect. GM2 was founded by Alice F.B. Guthrie to help promote her own love for music and to help others learn to appreciate the art of music. The Ministry has grown by leaps and bounds over the last couple of years and we continue to be blessed by the grace and love of God. The Ministry provides many services including piano and drum lessons, youth and adult music workshops, band engagements and catering. Guthrie’s Music Ministry Team w/2007 Guest Chester D.T. Baldwin

Guthrie‘s Music Ministries5th AnnualYouth Gospel Explosion What is the Youth Gospel Explosion???? • It is a day and half workshop that promotes • Youth Praising God • Learning to Uplift God in Song and Ministry • For all youth, ages 5-19 • Youth fellowship outside their communities across states and circumstances

  4. Guthrie‘s Music Ministries5th AnnualYouth Gospel Explosion What does the workshop offer? • We offer six classes for youth: • Praise and Worship • Ministering Hands • Flag • Musicianship • Drum • Steppers • Also a Youth Worker’s class

Gale Missionary Baptist Church’s Family Life Center Conway, AR – Pastor Forest Cooper

  6. Guthrie‘s Music Ministries5th AnnualYouth Gospel Explosion Tell Me More . . . • Registration is $15.00 per person and includes • 2 meals, refreshments, door prizes and workshop classes • Pre-register by June 15, 2008 • & receive a T- shirt and name in souvenir book

Guthrie‘s Music Ministries5th AnnualYouth Gospel Explosion 2nd Annual William George Cowan Scholarship • Established in 2007, the William George Cowan Scholarship Fund is administered by GEMS (Guthrie’s Empowering Ministries Scholarship) in Memory of William George “Daddy Bill” Cowan. • 1st Award present at last year’s Gospel Explosion to Shakira Carter of Malvern, AR • The William G. Cowan scholarship is designed to recognize young men and women of color who are making significant contributions to their communities. GEMS wants to support and encourage their continuing education by providing scholarships to those men and women enrolled in accredited technical and undergraduate programs. This scholarship is to help any student who wishes to further their education. • More information is given on the CD attached with this presentation
