Identification of a pool of recyclers • Step 1 : Identify the body of recyclers who produce materials • Step 2 : define preliminary selection criteria • The facility must be in business for more than 5 years • The facility must treat a minimum of 3000tonnes per year • The steel output must contain a maximum of 10% rubber impurities • Step 3 : Preparation of a format for contacting potential participants and ensure that they are distributed throughout the EU ETRA
Organisation of two workshops • Two workshops are being planned for 2013 – 2014 • One for the concrete industry • One for the tyre recycling industry • It is proposed that the two groups combine to work in concert • It is proposed that a joint session in Fall 2013 focus on the goals of the project – and opportunities or each group • It is proposed that a joint workshop be held in Spring 2014 focus on exchanges of information and know-how to progress the project
Dissemination • Continuation of dissemination activities • Presentation at ETRA 2013 conference – initial contacts with recyclers re : interest in post-project participation • Conference participation and identification of a minimum of two revenue streams from post-consumer tyres • Initiation of a focus group meeting on steel fibres at the 2014 ETRA conference ETRA 19th Annual Conference
