The Mission of RHA The mission of RHA is to build community within the residence halls by: • Providing and supporting social, cultural, educational and community service programs within the residence hall system • Suggest possible housing renovation projects • Investigate college policies that effect residential students and advocate for improvements • Address quality of life and personal safety issues in the residence halls

General Assembly Meetings • You will: • Interact with members from all halls • Make and vote on proposals • Give hall updates • Including pictures and recaps of RHA-funded programming • Gather information to share with your fellow hall council members (for traditional halls) • Ask any questions or share any concerns that you may have regarding your hall and/or res life

  7. AttendanceExcerpts from Constitution Residence halls shall be represented in accordance, and with respect to, the size of each hall. The number of representatives and votes for each hall shall reflect each hall’s occupancy. This will be done in the following manner: • More than 150 residents: 3 representatives, 3 votes • 50-149 residents: 2 representatives, 2 votes • Less than 50: 1 representative, 1 vote All representatives of the general assembly of the RHA must be in good judicial standing with the college. All voting representatives must attend all meetings. RHA General Assembly meetings are on Mondays at 7pm in Bieberbach-Reed.

AttendanceExcerpts from Constitution In order to retain speaking and voting rights, representatives must meet the attendance requirement.  The attendance requirement is: Representatives cannot miss more than two consecutive meetings at any time during the academic year without prior approval from the Executive Board. Representatives are allowed one unexcused absence per academic semester. • After one unexcused absences, the penalty for continued absences is as follows: • 1st offense: Voting members who are present retain voting and speaking rights during that meeting and receive a verbal warning from RHA President • All subsequent offenses: All voting delegates for that building will lose voting and speaking privileges, including the right to submit or present proposals, for that meeting and the following meeting.

  9. Voting • Community representatives are responsible for voting on behalf of their hall. • Ballots will be anonymous but will indicate the hall of the vote. • Advisors and Exec Board will be the only viewers of the ballots.

Proposal Process • Forms can be found on RHA website • http://www.rollins.edu/reslife/RHA/proposal.html • Must be turned in via email to kwhitney@rollins.edu the Tuesday before you want to propose at General Assembly • If your proposal for an event is approved, the RHA logo must be on the publicity/advertisements

  15. What do conferences do for you? • Conferences give residents an opportunity to travel while learning more about RHA • Conferences give the residents the opportunity to meet new people • Conferences give the residents the opportunity to develop leadership skills
