Biography • Born May, 2nd, 1906 in New York City dies June 25th 1979 In New Your City. • Moved to France where he worked for a fashion magazines, like vouge. This started his fame of becoming a famous portrait photographer. Mainly in France though. This soon changed and he became infamous for his celebrity portraits. • Known for very dark, sharp, images. • Became famous in America when he took a photo of Constance Ford for a lipstick add. • Most of his photographs have a lot of movement and he’s known for people jumping in his photos.
This photo was taken inside, the shot was taken at an angle, the main subject is the water (in my opinion), The lighting is dim and there are a lot of shadows. Every object is the picture is in motion. I think this photo is very interesting and I wondered how they may everything in motion at the same time.

The main subject are the bodies. They are trying to form the shape of a skull. Philippe has several photos where he does stuff like this. The photo is dark and the contrast is interesting.
