Press Release The UoM in Municipality of Platanias – Chania- Crete The University of the Mountains connects the scientific to experiential knowledge, with the aim of preserving and studying the lifestyle and culture of mountain communities and imparting to the new generations the values of excellent folk knowledge and kindness. In this context, UoM will perform the next excursion in Municipality of Platanias, on Thursday, 10th October 2019, where the following actions will take place: - Medical examinations by medical professors with their teams to the vulnerable groups of the local population in Karanou village  - Teaching of pupils at the Primary School of Skine – Fournewith the participation of the 2nd Primary School of Chania -Open discussion(Kafeneion) between the people of the Mountains, and scientists with issues related to self-sufficiency, handicrafts and the development of an endogenous, autonomous domestic economy.
