TEACH AND TEST PROGRAM STRUCTURE South Bays Team Captains System Team Captains tasks: • Team Captains and Substitutes are assigned to each participating school in September • They are trained in the protocols for both water sampling and beach trash collection and are given a Captain’s Manual (40 pages) • They meet the students that they will work with at the annual Kick-off meeting in late September • They communicate with the students reminding them of sampling dates and times • They meet students on all sampling dates and distribute the sampling materials to the student teams • They make an informal log of students attending • They insure that all water samples are taken correctly and transported to the labs by the specified times • They can join the students who stay to process the water samples in lab • They communicate with students about upcoming non-sampling activities
