  3. Tips for avoiding senioritis Completing senior year at the top of your game! Maintaining a good GPA • A campus can rescind your admission if your senior GPA falls dramatically. Keep your goals in mind Have good study skills and time management

  4. Study Skills • 1. Be organized • 4. Take quality notes • 2. Do the hardest subjects first • 5. Ask Questions and get help when you need it • 3. Form study groups

  5. Tips to maintain and increase your GPA • Ask your high school about tutoring services. It’s never too late • Work with your teachers at lunch or afterschool-especially if struggling. • Try not to take all-electives courses. Mix it up! Take honors, AP, and community college courses in addition to fun electives.

  6. Time Management Tips • Make reminders of important dates/deadlines • Create a time management chart • Use it and stick to it • Keep a calendar and plan ahead

  8. Testing: CAHSEE • Testing Dates: • October 2nd, 3rd 2012February 5th, 6th 2013 Must pass CAHSEE to obtain a high school diploma • All high schools are required to offer CAHSEE tutoring. Ask about it ASAP!

Required College Admission Tests SAT Reasoning Test: ACT: • General exam with 3 sections: Critical Reading, Math, and Writing • Deadline to take SAT for: UC : Oct 4th 2012 CSU: Nov. 1st2012 • For more information visit www.collegeboard.comor check with the counselor • General reasoning exam with 5 sections: English, Math, Reading, Science, and Writing • Deadline to take ACT for: UC: Already Passed CSU: Nov 2nd 2012 • For more information visit www.actstudent.org
