Tips for Writing a Thesis Statement • Make sure the subject being discussed is properly addressed in the sentence, and it’s very specific. • If possible, align your thesis statement with your supporting paragraphs. • If writing a persuasive essay, acknowledge the opposition in your thesis statement and avoid the 1st person pronouns. • Restate your thesis statement in your closing paragraph.
