  3. Tomorrow’s Doctors? Today’s undergraduates • Students - fee paying and naturally demanding • Medical Schools - faced with funding cuts • Undergraduates suffering from productivity drives in the NHS

  4. Technology is not a barrier to ‘learning on demand’. It is an opportunity.

  5. Medical students: • 94% access to a PC at home • 86% broadband access at home • 64% own an MP3 player • (84% of these (54% of total) MP3 players are iPods) Survey of 3rd and 4th year undergraduates, UCL Medical School – October 2006 1162 questionnaires 426 responses Response rate 36.7%

  8. 'Generation Y' student doctors swap textbooks for iPhones Published Tuesday 28th September 2010 The University of Leeds is issuing smartphones to all fourth and fifth year medical students.
