  2. About Thermal Mass Flow Meter • It is used to calculate the total mass flow rate of fluid, mainly gases, flowing through closed conduits. • It is a direct mass flow meter with no moving parts • Works effectively for large pipelines. • Doesn’t require any pressure and temperature compensation

  3. Theory of Operation • Thermal Mass Flow Meter contains two Platinum RTD temperature sensors • One sensor measures the fluid temperature as a reference. • The second sensor is heated and has a constant temperature differential relative to the first sensor. • When the flow of air/gas starts, heat is taken away from the warmer sensor. • The amount of heat taken away is having a direct relation with the mass velocity of the fluid. That is how it is a direct mass flow meter works.

Features of Thermal Mass Flow meter • Simple for installation. • There are no moving parts. • Pressure and Temperature compensation is not required. • Almost unobstructed straight flow path. • Very negligible pressure loss and pressure requirement, unlike differential pressure flow meters. • Straight pipe runs can be reduced by using flow conditioners or flow straighteners. • Very good repeat accuracy.
